Here is my first square for the Project Compassion blanket drive. I need to get it in the mail, but I’m trying to finish up a second one to send along, also.
I wanted to knit something with hearts but had to eventually come up with this myself because I couldn’t find a textured heart pattern I liked in any of my pattern books or on the web. The second square I’m knitting is this one; it’s almost done.
Then I’m going to get started with some squares for the blankets I’m putting together for a couple of little girls, refugees from Bosnia, whose lives have been turned upside down by tragedy. If you’d like to participate, drop me a line. For more information, see this post.

Unrelated side note: Today marks the end of my previous blogger identity. I deleted it and it’s gone, as of about ten minutes ago. I’m feeling a little sad, but not too much. Live and learn, onward and upward, out with the old, in the the new, yadda, yadda, yadda.
