Upper West Side Manhattan
March 2007
Finally home.
But I really miss New York. I wasn’t there more than a couple of hours before I knew I could live there always. Of course, I could never afford it, but let me tell you–the Upper West Side is a very cool place.
Of course I don’t need to tell you–it’s me that’s always the last to know.
I’m very glad to be home, but I fear I did leave my heart in the Museum of Modern Art. I felt it leap to my throat when I rounded a corner and saw this–

and when the museum closed and they made me leave I did feel a distinct emptiness in the middle of my chest.
On an unrelated topic: This post is excellent food for thought regarding Liberal men who don’t quite get it, sometimes, yet who are sincerely trying to. Take it away, Ilyka!

I can see you living in NYC…it IS your kinda town. The painting is one that would make me stop, too. Who is the artist?

I’ve been intrigued by it ever since. I wasn’t expecting it in MOMA and seeing it just blew me away.
