While I don’t want to live in New York, that IS one awesome sky, and I felt the painting move my soul too… can almost see you, being dragged from the museum by a uniformed guard, looking back at the painting the whole time.

The artist is Henri Rousseau and the painting is titled “The Sleeping Gypsy.” When I was a fresh(wo)men in college my introduction to literature book had this painting depicted on the cover. I’ve been intrigued by it ever since. I wasn’t expecting it in MOMA and seeing it just blew me away.
