Spinderella’s Thrums
Peaches and Berries
Observations after my first two-and-a-half hour spinning adventure:
- I have “spinner’s finger” (ouch)
- I may be developing “spinner’s thighs” (ooh la la)
- Or at least “spinner’s calves”
- Or maybe I’m just pathetically out of shape
- I entirely understand the lure of the spinning wheel (it’s a little bit about instant gratification)
- It’s not a good idea to wear black pants while spinning with fuzzy wool
- This handspun is the same color as another “handspun” I’ve been working on. . .
*This is my first handspun on my wheel, Selkie. I’ve some of this same wool I spun on a spindle. (Her name fits. Selkie longs for the sea, but her song lures sailors to her side)

The story of the Selkie is one of my favorites and its a perfect name for your wheel. You first handspun is very good!!

Posted 16 Oct 2007 at 5:55 am ¶So, is it *really* easier to spin on a wheel or is it just “different” from spinning with a spindle?
Posted 16 Oct 2007 at 6:46 am ¶Beautiful! I personally would fit into category #4.

Posted 16 Oct 2007 at 12:11 pm ¶Lurvely!!
