Lookie what came in the mail for me on New Year’s Eve—-

A Spin Out prize package!

Donating to Heifer International put my name in the drawing; it also caused my bank to freeze my account–I’ll get to that later.

Check it out–that’s FOUR skeins of sock yarn–plus a bar of soap from Biggs & Featherbelle, some SOAK, and a Spin Out magnet. I was practically giddy with delight.

The Fiber Denn Zebratto II in Sunset Shrub, Sheepaints Sock’n Go in Fountain, and Sundara sock yarn in Orchid and Royal. These babies are already in my Ravelry stash.

So about Heifer International —- somehow this donation was flagged by my bank as unusual, raising suspicions. Consequently, they froze my account. I learned of this, of course, in a most inconvenient manner when a purchase I was attempting to make was declined. When I called the bank, they hemmed and hawed and finally revealed that it was this donation that aroused their suspicions. This wasn’t a particularly large amount–and I’d certainly had other debits in larger amounts that caused no trouble. And don’t you think they might have NOTIFIED me? Called me or something? Dropped me a note?

I loved the part when they “offered” to release my money like they were doing ME a big favor.
