Doing my part to REPRESENT for the underachievers out there, I present Alarming Female’s FO’s for 2007:
1 pair of socks
1 pair of baby booties that never made it to their intended recipient
2 felted bags
2 afghan squares (though only one photograph) that I was sure I mailed until I came across them again while moving
2 lace shawls
1 scarf
1 dog coat
1 beaded bag
I make no apologies; I need no consolation (though validation from other slackers is warmly appreciated). What is, is.
I have no knitting goals for 2008. Well, actually, I have one–a combined knitting, spinning, exercise, weight loss, health, decluttering, and everything else goal–to get a goddamn divorce already. That would be nice.![]()
ETA: In solidarity with slacker knitters everywhere, I invite you to join me in our cause. If you’re preoccupied, running late, absentminded, easily distracted by shiny objects or new knitting projects, have more WIP’s than FO’s, or are frequently drunk (or wish you were), you’ve found your tribe! My son suggests the motto,”Slacker Knitters Unite Tomorrow!”

I won’t BS you. I think those are some impressive FOs.
Posted 06 Jan 2008 at 5:30 pm ¶I appreciate the no BS’ing. Seriously.
Posted 06 Jan 2008 at 5:51 pm ¶I finish so few things I even finally took down my FO picture gallery.
Yours look great to me.
Posted 06 Jan 2008 at 5:54 pm ¶Just one question. How many bars of soap did you make?
Posted 06 Jan 2008 at 6:52 pm ¶Oh, I do love you, Carole. Thanks so much. (and how many courses did I teach at the university, and how many months did I also teach high school, and didn’t I move this year?)
Bless you.
XOXO
Posted 06 Jan 2008 at 7:39 pm ¶You made beautiful things.
Posted 06 Jan 2008 at 9:22 pm ¶Yah, I’m with Carole - not like you haven’t had a few (ahem) other things on your plate this year.
You need a picture of Scarlett O’Hara wearing the drapery dress (or maybe Carol Burnett) saying “I”ll just think about that tomorrow.”

Posted 07 Jan 2008 at 8:00 am ¶If you like what you knit that’s really it, yes?? and you do…so there!
Posted 07 Jan 2008 at 9:19 am ¶and what’s the point of knitting if we can’t get distracted by shiny new yarn??? maybe Magpie Knitters Unite? mwah!
Oh I am SO in!!!!! Thank you, Sister!!!
Posted 07 Jan 2008 at 10:23 am ¶I think that’s a lot of knitting, my friend. And I also think that I will be a slacker knitter, but I’m going to have to think about that one for a while before I actually do anything about it. I’ll get back to you one that. . . whenever. . . I think your son’s slogan is spot on!
Posted 07 Jan 2008 at 12:04 pm ¶You finished way more knitting than I did this year, perhaps making me an ultra-slacker. I am such a slacker that instead of working on things right now I’m enjoying the work that others have done.
Posted 07 Jan 2008 at 7:24 pm ¶Hard work might pay off in the future, but laziness definitly pays of now.
Sistah! Let us revel in our slackardness, and be that much more proud of those lonely little things that actually do get finished. ‘Cause when I’ve got an actual FO, I do feel oh so inordinately proud of myself.
S(lacker) K(nitters) U(nite) T(omorrow) is right!!!

Hey there -
Love the bag, btw. It is lovely. You clearly put a lot of time into that one skein!
Thanks!
