I’ve knit this ball of yarn several times. First I tried another pattern with 64 stitches, and I couldn’t get it over my heel. See that attempt here. Then I tried that same pattern with 72 stitches. The pooling was awful—see that attempt here.
So then I tried Monkey. This pattern is the magical one for everyone, right? But it’s a 64 sts cast on, so I tried to compensate by making a deeper heel flap. That’s 40 rows, people, instead of 32.
It’s not gonna work.
I can get it on, if I struggle. But who wants to struggle with putting on their socks? Not me.
Now I don’t have dainty ankles, I’ll grant you that. But I’m on gauge, even on US #1 (what I had to use with STR to get gauge).
WTF?
Suggestions? Condolences?

Guage, smuage…make the socks fit. Use size 2 needles, I did and mine fit fine.

Posted 24 Mar 2008 at 3:12 pm ¶Don’t forget the other option, which was “give them to me!”
Just kidding, I agree with the pack, go up to size 2s. I always have to go up a needle size. It’s really only like .5 mm of an increase between 1s and 2s anyway!
