Welcome to Idaho

Found just off I-84 in Caldwell, Idaho—

This might have to go has already gone to Colbert.

Caldwell is described in my motel’s guest directory as “a desert brought to bloom by the wonders of irrigation.” That may be true, but “making statism unpopular” sounds like somebody’s idea of Caldwell’s claim to fame.

Last time I drove through Caldwell I got my first speeding ticket in fifteen years, so it’s not my favorite place. But I was born in Idaho, folks, not too far from Caldwell, in Nampa. And I know many fine people who live in Idaho, including my separated-at-birth/sister-from-another-mother, Kim, and my Ravelry bud, hunterjen. As well as my Aunt Bonnie and Uncle Larry over in Meridian.

So I’m not ready to write Idaho off, completely.

And Caldwell does have a winery or two.

That said, the folks who hang out in this little corner of Caldwell don’t appear to be wine drinkers, as evidenced by what I found near the sign–

And that sign is completely fucked up.

Reminds me of an NPR piece that interviewed some Clinton supporters about whether they’d support Obama - one of them kept calling him “Osama, I mean Obama”

He thought he was so witty, made him sound like a doof.

There’s stupid and there’s ignorant. I think that sign is both!

Maybe the bottle is a little bit of Caldwell recycling?

We are up against a lot… signs like that remind me. I hope the smart ones pull us through.

That sign’s messages have historically pissed me off royally!! Somebody without a life and too much $$ obviously wastes time coming up with the ignorant words placed there.
On a lighter note, I’ve spun and recently dyed wool with Kim - and she taught me to Navajo ply!! She is a delight

    Great sign!

I am guessing by the comments that this blog and followers are Socialists and will be voting for higher taxes, higher gas prices, more unemployment, dependence on foreign oil, sanctuary cities, more criminals on the streets….you get the idea.

Gypsy’s IP address tracks to Canada. Oh, it must be painful sometimes to be a conservative living in Canada.

    Sanctuary cities?
