OMG. The POTUS has won my heart. When talking about health care reform, my man Mr. Obama extolled the virtues of preventive health care. Not “preventative,” which has long annoyed me.
And then, this—
“Every American will need to get more than a high school diploma. And dropping out of high school is no longer an option. It’s not just quitting on yourself, it’s quitting on your country. And this country needs and values the talents of every American.”
Sigh. Pure afterglow.

I loved what he said about dropping out of high school, too. Keeping our kids in school is something we all need to get behind.

I’m watching the speech today.

I especially loved the straighton camera image of an african american man, a WOMAN, and a white man on the podium. How many of these speeches have we watched in our lifetime where there were 3 old white men on the podium?! out with the old, in with the new. heheheheh
