Kindle, anyone?

Kindle 2 from Amazon.com

Kindle 2 from Amazon.com

I’ve been thinking about getting a Kindle. Anyone out there have an opinion? I read Pride and Prejudice on my iPhone but I had to turn the pages WAY to often. Heh.

yarn-a-go-go Rachael has one and loves it. Haven’t tried it myself, though. I believe she has a posting about it, actually.

I read her posting–she does really like it. I love the convenience of it; don’t know that I need another gadget, of course.

heh. Until they’re in color and smell and feel like a book I doubt I’ll succumb…they’re not so cheap, either.

Shannon Oakey has been Tweeting about hers. She loves it. Me . . . I loves me a real book, with pages I can bend if I want.

My sister has one, and loves it. The display is great, very legible, looks like a book, and she also likes that no one can see what she’s reading, and that you can buy whatever book you want instantaneously. They have a small house, and it solved a huge storage problem for them as well.

However, if you drop a mass market paperback in the bathtub, you’re out 6.99. Drop your kindle and it’s, what 350 bucks. Also, with that high initial cost, even if you’re my sister reading 3 or 4 books a week, it’s still years before you break even. For me, on two books a week, I don’t see how i’d ever get my money out of it.

I hope, by the time you read this, that you have already ordered your Kindle 2!

I LOVE my K2. Took it on a trip and it’s so slim and easy to use. Slid into my handbag and anytime I wanted to read it was there.

    Thumbs up. ;-)

Oh, and as far as color, check out my blog. I’ve got pictures up with a “skin” on mine. Extra coolness.
